HMMWVs in Ukraine

Thought some of you might find this interesting. I saw in the background of a few pictures, HMMWVs, and was curious why/how the Ukraine gov't got them. Lead me to a news story from the Kyiv Post talking about how Ukraine came to acquire them, and some maintenance stuff.

We leave everything in every country we have ever been in war with. Very nice condition m60 tanks were driven off logistical ship ramps in the Persian gulf.

Sucks that some of the large Antonov transports were destroyed.

An124 has come to New Orleans previously but not the An225 that I know of.

Yes, You would think they would have gotten those birds away especially Myria. Maybe it was down for maintenance, who knows?

Said it needed 1 engine replaced but I guess it couldn't fly on the others

Over the past 8 years, America has sent equipment to Ukraine for $ 2.5 billion.
Among others, 1000 Humvee, Harris radios, rockets ...

So sad that Ukrainian forces served/fought in Kosovo and Iraq and now are alone in their fight against Russia.

I´m also pretty sure that they are not alone militarily. Sure no NATO troops in Ukraine for the known political reasons, but Ukraine sure has many more friends than Russia has at the moment.....

There are reports of a "large" number of U.S. and Brit volunteers. What large means I dont know.
