Not worth much and it's huge. I'll give you $100 and will send someone to pick it up for me. It's got to be an eye sore for your neighbors and I'm happy to help.

Honestly there's not many around. You could literally ask whatever you want for it. Also there's already been some threads on the ambulance bodies.....and I started one of them that has pricing in their so a simple search would have brought you to it. No need to get worked up..

WOW what interesting responses. for one ebay sucks, for 2 I don't care what neighbors think. Was asking a serious question and got what I deserved. Thanks Steel Soldiers
You got the answer you were looking for, and you probably knew it all along.
It's a rarity item that is not in demand. Sure you can put it on eBay/craigslist/ect for 5-10 grand and let it sit for months, if not years. Hence no reserve= actual value. Check it out on GB some time when they auction off class 3 nfa items...

BTW "real good shape" is vague... If I was going off the picture you uploaded, I would say it's not worth the paper it's on.

When I bought mine there were 41 of them for sale at NAS Brunswick. About a year later there were 2 lots at Loring AFB that totaled around 150 so there are still plenty of them around. I believe there were a couple other sales of them as the military converted them back to M998's as they chose to only keep the M997's in service. It's a very useful configuration of the HMMWV and draws lot's of attenting at events.

I would actually like to measure this for a M1082 build to see if it is feasibly. But for the person that is looking for one of these for their HMMWV the price might be right. Would you mind me coming out just to make measurements?

Put it on eBay for no reserve, starting price $1 and local pickup only.

I've done that plenty of times with large items and have always been happy with the results.

so you want to measure the body but are not interested in the body because of the price?
Right now it is not in my budget to purchase one, but it would be nice to know if it were even work due to size. Just thought you may be able to accomadate this request and not deceiving you that I was interested in buying it at this time. Plus figured since I provide information to you previously on eho had parts and their phone numbers you might not mind with this request. If it is a waste of your time, no hard feelings. :)

You should be able to look in the manuals and compare the M998 to the M996. That'll give you the weight and dimensions for the ambulance body. Personally I love mine and we use it as a camper all the time. Two things that make it very practical are the fact that it's waterproof and you can lock it and leave things in it, Something you can't do with a 998. The only real drawback to the 996 is that it doesn't have air conditioning like the 997 does.

I guess adding some useful information to this thread and the site is too much to ask. It looks like there are some other members looking for the same information.
