Homemade convoy lights...

I made some convoy lights this week.

I used 68" of 1.25" square tubing and some 7" round plates. Welded on some 2-7/8" exhaust clamps in the OEM positions. I picked up some Grote Strobe lights from my local truck parts house. After I replaced my batteries with 2 8D ones I wired in a complete circuit with a relay and breaker. They turned out good, plus love blinky lights :D Also did the fuel filter mod, it was nice as the factory fittings go right into the 142784s fleetguard base.

Looks good.

One more thing you might do- paint the flat top of your lenses black, then paint over that with white (to reflect sun heat, the black would absorb it). This keeps the sun from shining through the lens during the day, and makes the lights seem brighter. Makes a surprising difference.

Cheers
