How difficult is it to find a complete Turret for M1045A2?

Hello,

I am trying to determine if its even worth embarking on the journey to find a complete turret for an M1045A2. Otherwise, its certainly cheaper to purchase a new roof without the turret hole. I dont have a 'Need' for the turret, I would open it on sunny days while driving but otherwise I dont have a need for it. On the other hand, I cant get a sunroof in a roof this thin.

Thoughts?

Used to be you could get a complete turret for about $1600.
Now try finding just a Turret Weapons Support (5 point ring) for under $2300. Prices go up every week, I started scrounging about 18 months ago, got 2 complete M10XX kits plus 1 powered turret and 1 partial powered turret kit.

Between the former USMC M104Xs sold on GP without turrets, then the 180 original M1025A2 GMVs sold out of Letterkenny, and everybody else with an M998, M1097 or M1123 wanted to convert to slantbacks, there is too much demand for the artificially deflated supply.

So.... If I choose not to get a turret, is it possible to make this turret delete (plug GP puts in turret holes) not leak water? Or.... is it worth it, to purchase a new roof without a hole?

I sealed mine and it doesn't leak a drop.

Gamble, you have no truck, no registration, no pictures, and yet you keep making grand statements about what you want to purchase and what you want to do. California doesn't even title these FMV's anymore.

That is why you're getting the answers and feedback you're getting. I'm not just referring to this post. Its all your posts put together.

Your goals seem unrealistic. Just getting your vehicle legally registered will be a challenge, and you don't even have your vehicle to even send us pictures or tell us if it even starts and runs and drives properly.

Essentially, you don't even have the canvas to start to paint your proverbial picture, you don't have the paint, and you're not sure you can get the brushes to even start your project. It's like you're a kid the night before X-mas planning on what you're gonna do with your toys when you don't even know what you're getting and you don't even know if your "gift" is a real gift or coal in your sock.

My friendly suggestion... Read more... Get your vehicle and make it legal and functional before telling us what you're gonna do and what you're gonna buy.

Ok Tobash is it, My vehicle is purchased just awaiting the release. No I dont have pics but I have already begun purchasing the parts I want on it. Once it arrives, I will share pics as I have stated. As mentioned to you previously, my paperwork is already resolved. These trucks do NOT have to be registered in California. There are other states where I have other addresses. This is an online message board. Responses are whatever they are going to be. my purpose is served with the information I receive. If you do not like my posts you are free to not respond. I dont believe that to be too difficult for you to understand.

Thanks

If you are trying to price everything that would put your to-be-purchased-from-GP-HMMWV in the configuration or condition you want it, you can probably figure on $5500-6500 for a complete manual turret set up with Grade 8 hardware (minus the actual M23, Mk64, Mk93 Weapons Mount). I couldn't sell one of my complete turrets for much less than that, and I'd never be able to replace it for what I have into it.
Turret Weapons Support Ring $3500
Turret Weapons Station Tray/Pan $800-1000
Bearing $400-1000
Hatch Assy $250-450
Lock Ring Assy $300
Turret Bearing Retainers (6pcs) $300-400
Weapons Mount/Chicken Foot $300-350
Weapons Mount K-Bar (underside support for the Weapons Mount) $200-300
Back Pads (2pcs) $100
Pintle for Weapons Mount $60-100
Traverse Lock Assy $40
C Pillar Crossbar $500-600
Windshield Frame Brackets for Weapons Support (2pcs) $80-100pr
4x Resilient Mounts for the Frame Brackets to Weapons Support Legs $40-50
Windshield Mount Shim Plates (2-4) $10each
Inside Windshield Frame Nut Plate for Frame Brackets $30-40 each
Turret Hatch Latches (2pcs) $20-45pr
TOW Base Hatch Cover $25-40 or
TOW Mounting Bracket $50-100
Gunner Seat Mount Brackets $30
Gunner Seat/Sling/Swing Seat $30-100 depending on type
Rubber Bushings for Weapons Support to C Pillar Crossbar $20-30/pr
Snubber Plates for Above Rubber Bushings $10/pr
Tubular Sleeve for the Weapons Support to C Pillar Crossbar Bolt $10
Threaded Rod for Weapons Support to C Pillar Crossbar $5-10
Assorted Grade 8 Hardware, mostly 3/8-16 bolts, Nylok nuts, washers, minimum $100, probably closer to $125 or more

So whatever the above adds up to, along with whatever small parts I missed. You may be able to scrounge here and there get it a few hundred cheaper but competition is fierce for turret parts.

Get your truck, leave the roof plug GP put there in place until you scrounge the necessary turret parts over time, a $300 piece of Sheetmetal, vs paying $1500-2000 for used 4 man rag top and doors, that you could apply to your turret kit.

There is a HARD TOP roof with the bearing support, bearing, hatch, close to you.
He won't part it out.
I think he's asking $3,500 for it
It's missing the C pillar.
It was from a TOW HMMWV.
It has the old style weapons tray .
I think it's missing the front window brackets.
It needs some TLC .

Finding one close will save you money on shipping as they are not easily shipped.

This is a pretty fair price for a complete turret. However, there are a couple of items I believe you say are missing, such as the C Pillar (which is hard to find) and the window brackets. Not sure if I need the window bracket as my truck is also a TOW Hmmwv. But I am not certain.
