How rare is the M 36 A3 ??

Hey all,

I saw a truck the other day that I didn't know existed. It was the M36A3, this is the LWB (Long Wheel Base) version of the M35A3. Instead of a 12ft bed like on the M35, from what I have read the M36 has an 18ft bed.

Does anyone know if the M36A3 is a rare variant? If so... How rare?
Or are they some what common?

I have been looking at a deuce for a while now, but just hadn't been able to figure out how to make it work for what I need. But if I could find an M36A3, the extended length bed would be perfect.

So does anyone have one for sale? :)
Or am I kidding myself into thinking I might actually find one?

Thanks
~ Peace

I have an m36E3. It is not the total A3 setup. I has the cat 3116, air assist steering, air dryer, dual brake circuit.

But i doesn't have the automatic, it has a 5 speed
and it doesn't have the CTIS
and it doesn't have the A3 grill

That sounds like an interesting truck!

I recently picked an M36A3 up from Sparta. Drove it home without issue. She has about 7,000 miles on her. Seems the CTIS even works.:driver:
That was the one I was looking at! About two weeks ago right?
Missed out on it, and that is why I was looking for another one. Hadn't ever seen and M36A3 before that one, didn't know they existed.
I would have bid on that one, but I didn't know at the time if I would have been able to drive it off the lot, as I didn't have a way to haul. Found out later from here that they would let you drive off the lot there. Looking for another one right now.

Don't want to sell yours do you??

So far, haven't seen another M36A3 on GL... or anywhere else for that matter.

Well, hope your truck works out for you! ~ Peace

I picked up two trucks-the other was M35A3. Did not intend to win two-but thats what happens when you bid using a Blackberry. Currently going through the trucks and correcting anything bad-M36 is getting new lower rad hose and a proper cleaning. Seems like everything works on her-drove straight back to St Paul on original fuel in tank. You can pm me for further discussion on truck.

I think I've seen at least 12 on GL over the years. Not a hole lot more than that, but with all the other place these go befor GL. I'd bet more than 12 where made. The M36 was made to haul one of the missles so there would not have been much need for the A3 as the missles are/were long gone by the time the A3 came out. But this is just my thinking I have nothing to back it up thought. Where DD or CARNAC when you need them.

Some pics of an as new truck. I would love to find the history, and most importantly, it's original date of birth.

DMV are driving us crazy,
Because .... they have never seen one like this before!

Runs sweet, but ... CTIS is a pain where it is not polite to scratch in public.

Yes, I am following the M35A3 threads, and we WILL get it all working!

Shoot-did not really know what I was bidding! Recently used it to pick up some fabricated items-yes, I actually used it for a little work! Enough of the driveway queen stuff-this gal can work too!
I am keeping this truck all stock but have a set of different wheels and tires on her.
