How to identify if m998 was rebuilt buy gov

Ive seen a lot of listing claiming gov rebuilds on there m998s. Are there specific tags/ plates/ markings on the motor and or body that would ID such a rebuild? I found an 11/11/14 on the air filter and the interior seems to be very fresh so I know someones put some work into it but im curious as to if it was a gov rebuild or not?

Look for data plates on the engine, transfer case etc. my m1223 is a 2009 yermo rebuild. It has the following tag on the transfer case.

From what I've seen, every truck gets sent to rebuild at 10 years, then disposed of at 20 years.
If the truck is over 10 years old, it was likely rebuilt.

Another clue is if the date on the data plate doesn't match up serial number with the correct year (or very close to it) that it should have been manufactured.

Interesting. Mine is SN 060xxx (I can't remember the last 3 at the moment) and the delivery date was 03/89

the serial numbers look messed up for 1999, 2000, and 2001.
When were serial numbers 73001 - 99999 made?

I have no idea why it's like that.
Maybe they had different sets of serial numbers set aside for different series of trucks, or just had a bunch set aside for upfitting of some type that didn't get taken care of until later, so the serial number and delivery dates are out of order compared to what you would expect?

Here are a few Hummer H1 VINs. They are in the same sequence as the HMMWVs, the last 6 digits of VIN. And, they should fall in the same date / VIN ranges listed above.
With enough research, a more accurate VIN / year list can be made by using the H1s listed over the years on the interweb.
