Hub gear oil change

Getting ready to change my hub oil. What commercial product are people using for sealant between the cover and the hub?

Permatex RTV Gasket for Gear Oil?

You don't need to remove the cover to change the oil. Drain plug is underneath and fill plug is on the side.

Yes Permatex RTV .
As for pulling the cover, I would recommend doing so to check the spindle nut.
