This was my mistake the trailers I sold for $600 each was the M101 trailers modified to M116A3

The M116A3 is the chassis trailer. With a cargo box added it becomes an M101.

Yes the M116A3 would be the 1 ton chassis trailer. It could be made into an M101A3 by adding a cargo box.

Your trailer is an early design made by Silver Eagle here in Portland. I have one also and I tool it by their corporate offices to find out more about it, and they told me they released a few of them to the military for trial purposes, but not many. THe serial number on mine ends in 011, and they told me it was the 11th trailer made. Check your serial number and it is probably close to mine.
THey were pretty interested in looking at it when I had it there, and got a tour of thier manufacturing facility. Mine has non standard military tail lights, because it was a prototype. Pictures of yours would be great to see, for comparison.
Value is hard to say because it is a prototype trailer, but I would gusee it is worth more than the standard issue trailer.

I saw one of those in Tx. a year ago for $ 1250.
It was smooth, had inner walls, Humvee tires, tailgate had small latches, and had standard military lights.
I got a silver eagle flatbed instead for $550.
I went back there 3 months later...it was gone.
