Imagine that the engine stop is your "off" switch. If it's not pulled out, your engine is not set to off. Have you ever wondered why you have to turn off the accessory switch, and then pull the engine kill switch? The truck can run all day without the accessory switch turned on. You have to match your driving habits with today's litigious society. If you left/abandoned your truck without "turning it off," you would be held strictly liable for any damages caused when it gets bump started and takes off for its first solo mission.

How many of us chock the truck when we park it in a parking lot? What happens if another driver backs into and bumps our truck that they didn't see because it was camouflage?

Turn the truck off.

But then I've heard people say Not to leave the "stop engine" pull lever out, . . . cause it can stick that way.

Yes, it can stick in the out postition and this is usually because it isn't functioning correctly in the first place.

Turn the truck off, pull the stop out and leave it. Set parking brake. Chock the wheels.

Justr curious, what is the reason for this? Mine tends to spring back too. I was gonna fab up a lock assembly for it, but after reading that you could cut the wire under the hood decided not to.
