Well I didn't expect this to happen, but I now own an M54a2. I had to sell my personal 931 a few years back for various reasons and have been looking for a replacement for last year or so. I like the big cabs and big tires on the M939 series trucks as well as the cummins motors and allison transmissions. I never really thought about older ones because I am not really built for the smaller cabs if you catch my drift. Heh heh.

Anyway, I ended up winning a deuce and an M54 last week, plan being to flip them to continue the hunt for another 931. I drove up yesterday to check them over real well and I really took a liking to the 5 ton. It turned out to be a great truck with a lot of new parts and very good Firestone mud terrain tires on it. It is big and bright red instead of green, but I do believe this is going to be my personal truck for a while.

Oh, I forgot, it has an operable winch on it too!
A few more pics.

Nice truck, congrats! They look good in red, too.

Looks beautiful! I rarely see M54's in good shape now days. What's nice is parts commonality between that and the deuce. Any plans or ideas in mind for the big red machine?

No solid plans right now. The frame was shortened a little over 2 feet by the fire department and it is just over 12 feet long frame rails so I am looing for a deuce and a half bed in real good shape to mount onto it. I need to find 4 more real good T831 firestone tires to match what is on there or sell/trade the Firestones and put super singles on it.
