Doghead: In the olden days, people used their exhaust manifolds to cook their meals.

The manifold cooker works on Model A's that do not have a heater box attached. My Model A has a heater so I can't buy one and cook a meal while rolling down the road.
People, when you want to cook, on a motor, then do it right. A D424A turbine. The below link is to my baby. The army only bought 104 of them, and I worked on probably every one, during the time frame of 1985 to 1993. This was faster then a microwave, or any other form of cooking/heating you can manage. At 16.5 gal an hour, not cost effective. But hot!!

What was the reasoning behind this? Something was "too quiet" so they used this? Did something need a WHOLE bunch of "power"? Curious, ya know?

Tracer, why do you think I have two hearing aids? I simply loved to hear this baby start, stop and run! It was a terrible gen set. But what a sound. It was made to power the Patriot Missile System. I still play this clip once a month just to get a hit off the sound.

Its funny how just something as simple as a sound is so calming and comforting.
