Rarity in the civilian marketplace place, for one. The fact that it's newer is another factor. Mostly it's just the "ooohhh, wow" factor.

Don't feel too bad for not getting one. Take this for what it's worth, as I haven't served, or driven these trucks...I just know several friends who have done both. From what I've been told, the Freightliners weren't highly thought of with regards to reliability. Apparently the rough roads shake them to pieces. Hoods get replaced on an almost weekly basis, cabs crack, and even the rear windows fall out from the vibrations.

If you get one look for signs of welding on the rear of the truck, I guess it's fairly common to turn them into a modern gun truck since they don't hold up for daily hauling duty.

No personal opinions expresses, I would still give my right arm (and maybe a leg too) for one to play with.
