HMMWV Titling Questions.
The newly released HWWMVs are being sold with an "Off Road Use Only" restriction. Any discussion on having your HMMWV titled as "on-road" or how to get the vehicles titled for "on road use" will get you banned from the site. See this thread for more details.

USMC trucks have clear SF97’s with no restrictions.
DLA Army trucks have the off road stamp and restriction, there are no more Army Hmmwv’s coming out.

No. A lot of states flag them. Depending on the state. Some require a resident to tag their vehicle in their resident state in 30 or 60 days of living there.

Option b is to start an LLC in a state that titles them and allows registration of hmmwv's then have to file a foreign qualification in California in order to drive the vehicle legally in California. Just do not exceed 10,001lb or you are required to have a CDL and medical card
Sent you a direct conversation regarding the above.

The breaking of HS’s is not a HP and torque issue on hmmwv’s, its improper use of BTM and operator error.
To elaborate - get a wheel in the air spinning and hit the brakes and jerk it to a stop and snap it.

What's your take on a hmmwv's tolerance to increased power?

No more army HMMWVs is big news and deserves its own thread for discussion. I was unaware of it and I'll bet many others are as well.

if you look at the auctions, there hasn’t been any real number of army trucks for some time.
on FB there is forum run by Dave Demorrow Called AMVO, association of military vehicle owners that tracks this kind of stuff.

Using the words "reasonable cost" and HMMWV in the same sentence is the highest example of an oxymoron ever made.

I don't understand. Whether it's an army truck, USMC truck, etc. aren't they all disposed of through the DLA? It's the DLA that provides the SF97, not the branch where the unit came from. Am I missing something?

The deal is done thru gp/DLA. Hmmwvs were picked from a lot on Campbell
Right. Since the deal is done through the DLA, they issue the SF97. It's not the branch it came from. So why would the DLA make an SF97 with off road only use, and another with on road use, for the same truck?

ok clift notes version here..
DLA is stopping all donations and sales of former MVs (already moved on he vast majority of them)…
USMC and SOCOM found a loop hole that allows for SOME exchange sales....
DLA is trying to stop them too....
army M998s and 1038s are the ONLY DLA trucks that were supposed to be released, the 2x 1025s and the 1037 they sold via IP are supposed to be returned (if they ever find them). the other trucks (socom and USMC) were released in opisition of TACOM and DLA. BUT will be sold until the current contracts are expired (by date not number of vehicles). when the contract is up they MAY have another contract or be directed to be crushed as all army hmmwvs are now. DLA lied to OSD stating all hmmwvs are now armored (untrue ) and must be crushed.
