Do you know what your state laws are for plate display on a tractor? In MI, they are supposed to be on the front of the vehicle only.

Hi Bjorn,
I've driven tractor trailer for 25 years now, and I've seen tractors from most states with plates on the front of the truck. I've seen a few tractors from 2 plate states with plates on the rear as well, but never one with no plate on the front.
FWIW,
Rick

Want my honest opinion? How often will it really be a 'tractor' towing a trailer? Considering that you will likely have a trailer on it little, I would anticipate a rear plate just to keep from having a 'pull me over' flag.

I know NY runs plates on the rear of all their tractors....

Last time I said "it only makes sense" to a politician I just narrowly escaped crucifixion...

EDIT: I'd stick it on the back, because I wouldn't think you'd be pulling a 5th wheel trailer near as often as not... plus, they are more likely to stop you for not having a plate on the rear when going without a trailer than not seeing the plate in the rear with a trailer. Especially if you don't have a DOT number and everything...
