I agree the jbk, could be an Air Force mb series (MB-15, MB-16 something like that) built from the early 1960's to mid 1970's. Part of the reason the mil-std MEP series of generators was introduced during the Vietnam war was the military found themselves in a logistical nightmare of trying to support a large number of diverse models, some of which had extremely limited production.

p.s. the MB series were built from "common" aircraft components to make servicing by then air force mechanics easier, they also had very complex control systems
