Looking to buy Bombardier/VW Iltis. Running, driving and yep, stopping. Needs to pass a State Inspection. Prefer in the USA and titled. Not looking for a trailer queen but not looking for a POS either. On a scale from 1-10...a 7 or 8 would be great. I'm in Northern Virginia. Let me know what you have and a couple photos would be excellent. Have cash. Thank you.

can't help you but nice to see theres someone else who likes knowing about the iltis tho
(not to get too offtrack, but on a side note I always wondered how small the halfshafts in these things really were as apparently it seem the suggestion was that they were best left in 4wd as much as possible due to 2wd power snapping them shafts over time)

one thing I also never knew of till I had got and read "cars with 2-stroke engines" by mark telford a few years ago was the munga by dkw, and you do have to admit that the two (munga and iltis) could almost be mistaken for each others except for that the dkw had an unusual narrower hood flanked by "ramps-lookalike" on both sides of it compared to the full-width hood on the vw

anyway I think I'll stop here as this is a trading post not discussion post..hope you find the iltis you wanted btw
