Im new and i have a 5th gear lock out solenoid problem

I have a M923a2.

When my 5th gear lock out solenoid is plugged in my truck dies and hiccups when in reverse but if I unplug it it runs drives just fine has anyone had this issue? I'm going to replace the solenoid today to see if that fixes it but just wondering if anyone knows the problem and also thank you for letting me join

I know you said you fixed it, but double check that your button on your transfer case lever isn't stuck in. Shoot some electrical contact cleaner in there and actuate it a bunch of times to help clear out anything that may be causing it to stick.
