It's supposed to hit -10f with up to -30f windchill. I put new antifreeze in it when I swapped in the motor this past summer and figured I was good to go but in checking all my vehicles tonight the Deuce failed. I only had 3 balls floating which was -10f. I opened up the radiator drain and took a gallon out and put in a gallon of pure antifreeze but my problem is I am not sure if it mixed properly. I ran the truck for about 1/2 hr but could not get it past 140f even with completely blocking the radiator...I'm worried. I tested it again and it has 5 balls floating but that sample was drawn from the radiator. I have no way of knowing if the antifreeze in the block got mixed in or not. ****...I just put that motor in. See what stupidity can do...
I took the antifreeze that i drained out, sealed it in a pail so no animals could drink it and put it outside next to the Deuce as an indicator.I took an old comforter and wrapped it over the motor as best I could to block the wind. I don't know what else I can do at this point. I have no garage to put it in and i is too cold to work outside or I would drain the whole system. I am praying it mixed enough...
