injector pump

Don't want to sound stupid here but I have two questions....

1) I have an injector pump labeled LDS 465 1A. The engine is an LDS 465 1D.
Will the IP work ( I assume it will) and do I have to do anything different?

2) I can't seem to find the manual or a reference to how to time the IP. I do know that the crank gets lined up and the IP gets lined up under the window.

I haven't replaced an injector pump in a Duce so I thought any info I can get would be a plus. Thanks.

Trying to do a favor for a friend. Poor guy has a "well used" duce that has continual problems.
