Inline pump pulling thru stock pump

I ordered a carter inline pump to install. Do you guys pull thru your factory pump or pull it out and make a suction line?

I leave the old pump in-place.

If the pickup tube on the old pump is bad, you may still have problems sucking air into the line. YMMV.
