Our Police Department has one and it is the chit!! Seems to be a tad top heavy with the weapons station mounted. Ours is flat black.

I have seen them in Tan, not a paint expert but the military paint is so rough I would think adhesion would be good as long as there wasn't a solvent reaction creating fish eyes or orange peel.
With the rough surface it might be hard to get a good even gloss maybe
