Is it possible for water to get in my front differential?

I have a new to me Barstow m1123 and everything on the truck is brand new. I’ve chained the oil, the transmission fluid, the transfer case, the rear diff no problems!

My front diff however, poured out a milky viscous nasty looking gear oil. It almost looks like water had gotten in. Has anyone had this experience or have any recommendations? Trying to figure out how water could have gotten in. I let the oil drain out and replaced it with new Valvoline 80-90 gear oil.

Thanks!!
