IS this a skid plate from CUCV transfer case?

This looks a lot to me like a skid plate I saw some time back on a transfer case under a CUCV. If it is, does that mean they were available on the civilian counter parts from GM? Also, what transfer case is under CUCVs? Are they 203s? If so this skid plat will do me no good.

Yes that is a GM factory skid plate.
CUCVs have 208s and the HD models had 205s but no 203 were used that is the civy full time 4wd transfercase from the 70s. My 79 GMC Jimmy (Blazer) had a NP203.

So this will fit a 205? I have one for my Ford, will it fit that?

Yup, GM skid plate.

The 4 bolt holes line up with the crossmember and extend under the transfer case. Sorry but i don't have a way to take a pic of my M1008.

If that is the case then it will not work on any of my trucks.

If I remember my 205 cases correctly, they had 2 crossmembers close together. The ends of the skid plate bolted to those crossmembers. For the 208, there is only one crossmember. The skid plate bolts to it, and just rests under the t-case.

Does that mean this fits the Blazer only?

It fits the M1009 AND the M1008.

I had a civvy 3/4 ton P/U and Blazer and both had the aforementioned skidplate.

This thing has been sitting behind my shed for a while. It looks as though I will not be getting the truck it goes to any time soon. I guess I will just post it on Craigslist.

Lonesome - I'm very happy with my M1009. Have you checked the Classified Ads here on SS? I just popped over there and found one in GA for sale.

I find them for sale all the time. the problem is when I do i am broke. When I can buy one I cannot find one I like.
