Is this an original military setup?

Well these era of deuce and half's are not my forte. I found this one for sale and was curious if this is an original setup or someone's homemade crane. I am guessing it's home made but with all the random colors on image.jpg the truck and crane it might be original. Hope someone can share their expertise.

That looks like the first stinger crane ever made. Almost certainly was not mounted on the GMC chassis during military service. I learned the hard way that trucks like the one pictured that served extensive civilian careers are often not the best to restore back military. Too many mods to undo and often have frame issues.

That was a very early gasser truck. The "crane" looks like something fabricated from a pole truck or earth borer. my 1/2 penne'th.

I had a good thought it wasn't a military setup but figured I would ask. Thanks for the insight too on the possible frame damage, never really even thought of that. I'm not gonna purchase the truck but at $2,500 it was sort of tempting.
