I am having trouble locating a decent priced heater for my truck, but found a nos heater for a M38 for $70. Anyone ever tried these in a deuce, and if so how do they perform? Would be mounted inside the cab, passenger side like the A3's and 5 tons. Any reason this wouldn't work? I know without a diverter box it would be heat only, no defrost but I could get creative with the ductwork and rig something up. Seems worth the price for just for the new blower motor/heater core. From the website:
Jeep Heaters have heavy duty heater core. Simple to hook up, your two heater hoses fit over 1/2 pipes and then hook up 1 wire to switch. These are 24 volt but we have sold hundreds of these and found that they work just fine on 12 volt. Perfect for snow plows tractor cabs or jeeps. New. Government Issue.
Measures approx:

8 1/4 in. to widest point
