I've spent some time searching for detailed information on welding the sprag clutch of a m35a2 but couldn't come up with any thing so I t just pulled it apart and here's what I decided to do

I have heard of mud boggers "welding the sprag" but at least in this post here, welding is strongly discouraged: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/sprag-substitutes.1093/

The reason is that the sprag clutch is an overrun clutch, and the function depends on different rotation speed between front and back. That would make the vehicle drive-able with a welded sprag clutch only when a set of wheels can freely slip. So...probably not with 4 sets of chains on the tires...

This is also cited as an issue here: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/threads/t-case-question.18159/

Please share how this works out for you, interested to learn!

I am no expert either way, just sharing info.

My only plans for this truck are offroad so it seems to work just fine it doesn't hop or slip the tires noticeably and short of rebuilding the sprag it was only 2wd I wouldn't recommend doing it for a street driven truck
