Killed my alternator

Well I replaced the regulator, no luck, it wasn't it, there doesn't appear to be any output from the unit. The small wire going into the alternator reads 24.05V on my DMM, the main feed reads about the same. There's a small post if you will under the cap that reads 5.0V or so, it changed from time to time, seemed to be getting higher, and I couldn't find what it was suppose to be anyhow. So it's time for a new alternator I think.

Gimpy, any luck with that PN? I would love to go to a single wire system of some sort., esp. at 100A, and at a way lower cost.
