Large frame wiring grommet replacement option

In a project that I have been working on, I needed a rubber grommet for wiring to pass through 1/4" thick frame. Not finding one at my local GOOD hardware store, I came across an option that can be found at just about any auto parts store. It is a PCV grommet from older Fords. It requires a 1" diameter hole, and provides about a 3/4" diameter pass-thru. It is part number 42049, often found in the HELP section.

McMaster -Carr has a full selection of grommets that are Gov. Spec I believe. They match the ones used on a Deuce exactly.

McNabb's in Waterford, a little far for you. It is a small locally owned place that crams a surprisingly large variety of things in it. Better to support them than the big box stores. There's just not too many choices anymore.

Speaking of locally owned places, Mazza's Auto parts (Waterford , also Clarkston?) is fantastic. Very helpful and knowledgable people.
