This little lever of the dump hoist control box broke. The system works well, just this little lever is kaput.

Above the broken parts and its size. This is in metric, in inches this lever would be about 3.46 inch long.

This is of a 1965 M51 A2 5-ton dump truck.

We tried to manufacture the piece ourselves, but did not manage. The Dutch companies who used to sell MV stuff are either bankrupt (REOMIE) or do not have those things separate. No idea who else in Europe could have this.

Anybody has a spare laying around somewhere, or a destroyed control box with the lever still attached?

a grinder, stick welder, and some nickel rod will have that fixed good and strong in 30 minutes or less

i have a few of those levers but they are with complete box/hoist assemblies for future sale :(

The blacksmiths / welders here said they can do it, but the main problem is that almost certainly it will break again. This was not a fresh new clean break but a process of an old crack growing and getting the final push. Also, it is not just 5 minutes work, and that costs $$ also.

Their advise: if you can get a new or good used one for $ 50 - 100, do it. These guys are restoring equipment like a 110 year old 130 ton press and occasionally work for the Czech National Technical Museum with restoring steam engines. It is hard to believe, but I trust them.
