LMTV Cargo gate problems

Hello everyone! This is my first post, so I apologize if I'm doing something wrong here. Lift gate on my LMTV got stuck in the upper position and the "down" do not respond at all. I do not rick to press on the "Up" button, cause do want to make things worse. But at least motor was making sounds that it at least worked, but makes no sound when I do press the "Down" button. Can someone help to troubleshoot such an issue? Maybe someone already came across with such a mishap? Will Gladly accept any advice or recommendation. Thanks!

Hello everyone! Thanks for paying interest to my question and I apologize for not answering it in a timely manner. Was trying to trouble shoot this issue.
First, No this issue is not cab related. There is no list crane, but the actual list gate (I will attach the photos below).
The roots of the problem were in corrosion on most of the contacts, which caused short circuit. I troubleshooted it first time when the lift gate got stuck in the upper position, by rerouting and cleaning feeding cables same night (when I made my first post in this thread). So when it helped it only assured me that I was doing it right. But recently lift gate got stuck again when I decided to lubricate the chain and isolate feeding cables better. I tracked down the problem to the solenoid Monarch 24V Volt Solenoid 934-2443-610-15 (please see the photos below), cause it began to switch off the 40 amp breaker/fuse on the battery box.
Contacted manufacturer already and waiting for the parts.
Looks like this lift gate was originally installed on the vehicle from the factory by the look of it (original paint, hardware and corrosion back from 1996).

Sounds like you’re on the right path. Looks like a pretty straight forward setup. Are there limit switches that stop it at full up and full down?

There several safety switches actually or safety devices. First, obviously a breaker/fuse (40Amp) that knocks out because of this short circuit. I'm ready to assume that even the solenoid could still be functioning, but corrosion is the main cause of the problem. Second, there is a rail with a couple of relays right under the lift gate power unit compartment that kills the engine, if something came in between the moving ramp and the bode of the truck. And, finally, the chain itself doesn't go any further than the upper position.

You can always ohm out the relays to help determine there health a good relay should show 0 ohms on the contact sides, not the coil. A bad relay will have anything above 1 or 2 ohms in my opinion.
