Log Hauling Modification to M116A3

I bought three of these chassis in Wilmington for around $400 each. This modification makes it easy to pull them with either civilian trucks or military trucks. I left the 24V bulbs in and use the adapter I built (see last picture) - could put 12V bulbs in for all-civilian operation, but I did not need to modify the military wiring at all for each trailer.

I can remove from only one side with standard forks on my ASV RC50 tracked skid steer with the forks separated as far as possible. They fit on either side of the fenders. I can also use the log grapple I have for the ASV, but the thumb isn't necessary and would get in the way. This picture shows the forks positioned to remove logs.
