Hello from Germany,
I would like to renew the brake system on my 1984 M1009. Here in Germany I do not get spare parts, I would order them from Rockauto. However, there are 2 different brake shoe sizes listed for the rear drum brake: 11" X 2" and 11-5/32" X 2-3/4" . Which size is the correct for the Blazer K5 M1009?
Does anyone maybe have Rockauto part numbers for the brake system from the CUCV?
Thank you.

It takes the larger brakes. Don't let anyone talk you into using the small width shoes just because they fit and work. It is brakes you are working on. \

I hope that helps. Good Luck. If it were me I would pull the axles and do the axle seals and the wheel cylinders. Put brake problems in your rear view mirror.
Mach es gleich beim ersten Mal richtig und schau niemals zurück.

It never rains in Germany. We don't need no stinkin wipers.

In Deutschland regnet es nie. Wir brauchen keine Scheibenwischer
Wir verwenden Laserstrahlen, um die Windschutzscheibe zu trocknen und sauber zu halten.

If ever any questions as to part numbers look up in the -20 or -34 TM's. That will give you the GM part number and then a quick google search will get you some aftermarket or whatever part numbers. The military technical manuals are a little wonky, but spend some time in them and they'll make sense!

Parts manuals are the -20P and 34P. The-20 is the unit maintenance so it covers most brake parts.

Be sure to follow the correct UOC number, this is the Used On Code for the various models...yours is an M1009 so the UOC is 209. This is all covered in Section 1, paragraph 5 of the parts TM.

The manufacturer part numbers are what you want, Rock Auto can cross reference these.
