Looking for canvas door gasket

I tried searching for this and didn't find anything, probably because I don't really know what to call it. I have a 1943 M5 generating set that I'm tearing down for partial restoration. The cowl and panel doors have a canvas gasket material around the outside. It's about 5/8" wide and held in place by a rivet every few inches. Does anybody have a source for this material, or know what it would be properly called? Thanks.

Let me know if you come across anything. My M37 is very early and has a CCKW roof that used this and I've never been able to find a replacement....as well as for my M5.

One of the members at the US militaria forum directed me to what might be an acceptable substitute. My welting measures 5/8" or so wide. The grill to hood welting from a ww2 jeep was 3/4" wide. Hopefully it'll fit and function on the M5. I'll let you know if it fits when I get it, so if it doesn't at least it'll save you the trouble and we can keep looking.

Mac53,
I just found a better source for the lacing. Snyder's Antique Auto Parts has it available in 1/2", 5/8" and 3/4" cut to any length for $1.00-$1.25/ft. They also sell split rivets for attaching it in packs of 24 for $0.95/pack (black painted steel) or $1.50/pack (brass). My original rivets were steel but the brass would look nice, especially if you go with the Navy paint job. Links below.
