Loud horns

I'm not thrilled with the horns the deuce had, so I'm making a set of my own. Here's the middle one in the set of three I'm going to build. One will be larger and one will be smaller than this one.

Air horns are pretty simple. Just a few plumbing fittings and a diaphragm. The bigger one will be 1" larger on the diaphram and 1/2" larger on the trumpet tube.

Got it, just haven't decided if I like that adapter as a "bell" yet. Rest of it is glued together. I was going to look around to see if I can find something that bells a little more.

No, not yet. I'll probably leave them on the truck. I'm going to add a second air line setup with a "trucker" style horn valve/cord. These will be for play really.

That is a very cool setup. I like stuff I make myself. I like cheap stuff I make myself better. What PSI are you using? Any chance you could post pictures of the next build so i can identify the pieces better then the diagram you posted (good job on that by the way)

When you tune them, loosen one most of the way up and tighten the snot out of the other. That gives the low/high tones with harmonics that makes them sound great.

i bought some of the ones listed here in the classifieds....they are loud as heck...easy install too...all i had to buy was some airline and a button valve. all said an done was about 70 bucks all together. i never even thought about making a horn. im gonna go try this

I to like loud so I put a set of nathan K5HL's train horns on my 5 ton. The horns are fed by 3/4" line with a manual train horn valve on the dash.

I blow those train horns all the time. After 12hrs of blowing them every few minutes, you get tired of hearing them... I still would like a set for my m818, or m915 when I get it.

Very cool with the PVC horn. I wouldn't think it would vibrate well enough to sound decent, but it sounds pretty good.
