Anyone here have any of the LVS trailers that are used with the MK48 Front Power Units?

MK14 - Flat bed
MK15 - Recovery
MK16 - Fifth-wheel
MK17 - Material Handling Crane
MK18 - Self Loader

I am planning on changing the axles and adding a 5th wheel hitch.

Do you know where to find a copy of the TMs? I have searched and cannot find them anywhere.

The TM issue numbers is all I have found, so far.

TM 08780B-CD LVS MANUALS
TM 08780B-10 LVS OPERATOR’S MANUAL
TM 08780B-20 LVS MAINTENANCE MANUAL
TM 08780B-24 LVS MAINTENANCE MANUAL
TM 08780B-34 LVS MAINTENANCE MANUAL

Rear Body Units

TM 09470A-20 MAINTENANCE MANUAL
TM 09470A-24P PARTS MANUAL

I ended up making my own hitches. TIG welded and mighty fine. Looked for the real deal for a long time ....no luck.

Could you use some kind of universal joint with an extended drive shaft and hook one of these trailers to the back axle on a 6x6. I am sure anything is possible but I am wondering if anyone has already done this.

I have thought about this, but the articulation between the truck and trailer would be a difficult problem.

The axles on the trailer would likely not be the same as a Deuce or 5 ton, but I do not know what they are. May could swap axles out for the same as on the towing truck, but you would still have the articulation problem.
