M 1008 Fuel filter drain plug seal

All, I replaced the stock fuel filter on my 86 M1008. After, it appears to be leaking from the drain plug port. I know the TMs say to replace the drain plug seal. Since I did not do this I am assuming that this may be the problem. Needless to say local parts stores did not have these seals. Does anyone know where I can find the seals? Could I get away with using the old seal and placing an o-ring on the drain plug itself? Thanks for the help.
