M-1009 heater hoses and thermostat

Replaced my temperature sending unit and light now seems to stay off but my thermostat housing was leaking after I replaced the thermostat. Another day, another gasket. My old sending unit had a crappy looking soldering spot that fell off when I removed it. Makes me wonder if that was the problem all along.
