Does anyone have a pic that they can post of an M218 Light Recovery Vehicle?
This is in response to a question that was sent to me and I don't have the knowledge to answer it. The photo should answer the question, but so far Google hasn't found anything close to what I'm looking for!

Thanks, Stan.

XM711 or a XM142 were the M37 based trucks

The Canadian Military may have had a M218 GMC based recovery vehicle,but D Doyle's SCoMV only lists a M135,M211,M215,M216,M217,M220,M221,and a M222.

Even Fred Crimson's book does not list a experimental version.

This may very well be, because the OP is Canadian, but still no google find.

thanks on the XM711

Just for grins I did a search in LOGSA, nothing found. Makes me think its either very old, not U.S., or still classified!

Found the following:

M211 Series of 2½-ton (6x6) Cargo Truck, including following variants: M215 Dump Truck, M217 Fuel Tank, M218 Light Wrecker, M220 Shop van, M221 Tractor Truck, M222 Water Tank, M135, M135CDN (Canadian variant)

at Products for these Vehicles... (but no pics)

Also found a reference to a Canadian M218 light wrecker in reply 2 to the following thread:

Differance between the MLVW and the M35 Trucks

Hope this is of some help!
