M10014 man?

Can someone here tell me more about M10014 MAN trucks 8x8? Are they readily avalable? How much about pricing? Does anyone here have one? How about reliability?

Lots of info on the web. Not many in the US. These were tested before theOshkosh Mk 48 were released. Parts will be difficult to find and most likely be sourced in the UK or Germany. Buy American made.

Talk to "TCODY", he has TWO, the wrecker and the tractor (every time I think about this, I instently drown my key board with DROOL).

These trucks were built by MAN but ALSO licenesed to GMC as builder for U.S. use, The MAN units were built but I do not believe the MAN/GMC units were ever built.

If you saw M10014 somewhere it is a typo...these models run M1001, M1002, M1013 and M1014. See mantrucksusa.com. The 8 forward gears must be a blast to drive...

I tried a search before , I couldn't find much. So I take it the M10014 is similar to the MAN Kat1? How about value? Are there many around here in the US and when have they been used.

I know where the OP saw it. And it does say M10014.

I don't think I would want one for use. Yeah, it may go just about anywhere. It'll blaze it's own path, for sure, but from the pictures, it's missing some parts. And like someone said earlier, parts are going to be coming from overseas...

Ugly, beat up old truck. Ran hard and put away wet....

That Typo is probably the reason why I couldn't find anything much. ok m1014 makes more sense . Thank you for the website link. lots of info there to get me up to speed.

We are probably talking about the same truck. Price seems decent, though.

I took a peek at that website and was amused to see the M1003. I haven't seen that particular truck for what, two hours now? My neighbour Sarge and I were looking at it this afternoon and talking about how much fun its going to be to fix the flat tire so he can take it to the car show on Sunday.

Five or six years ago, he and I made a roadtrip to buy that truck, and drove it from Illinois back to Texas.

Just be warned, those trucks are a bear to maintain, and most parts have to come from Germany and are NOT cheap! Sarge is a very experienced mechanic, and he just had to have the truck since he drove them in the Air Force while part of the GLCM program (which is what those vehicles were used for in US service). But keeping the thing working drives him to distraction at times.
Something to ponder before jumping into owning one of these trucks.

I stand to be corrected, but as far as I know the M1003 was a test vehicle only, (I'm told perhaps only two were bought?) and did not enter US service. Sarge's is one of the two.
The rest are almost as uncommon, as they saw only very limited US service.

The Pima Air Museum in Tucson has a GLCM display with several of these trucks, including a GLCM launch vehicle which was reportedly specifically named in the INF treaty to allow its preservation as a museum piece. All the rest were destroyed.

I remember these trucks from my time also in the GLCM program in Florennes Belgium (84-85), Awesome trucks, I remember riding in one on the "confidence course". All I can say is WOW! That being said, if the opportunity to own one ever happened, I would have to, just to be a caretaker in its history.

I know of one of those tractors locally just wasting away in a field. I've approached the owner several times about purchasing it but he will not sell it. Its sad to see something that rare just sitting.
