M1008 4x4 transfercase

Hi,

I need a 4x4 shifter ball for my M1008 4x4 transfercase, anyone have any ideas about where to get one? Also, anyone know what size the thread is on the shifter?

This is a common Chevy/GM part, there is nothing special about it on a CUCV. Just get one from JC Whitney, LMC Truck or any 4x4 parts store.

I'd just go to your local 'pull n pay' type junkyard and find an 80's GM 4x4 and pull one since LMC doesn't list one.

You could also try GM, 15588503 is the part number

I found some out Ebay militarysurplusparts out of HESPERIA CA
That where I bought my shifter nob back 2 month's or so.
He gets listed some times send him MSG he might be able to help.

Yep, I checked with Gm, it's no longer available. JC has them but for the later trucks, LMC does not carry them. But I will try the other sources.

Just saw this on eBay for anyone looking for a shift knob, seems like a fair price with free shipping. It does have the shift label, were the CUCV is lot labeled, but still will work if you need one. I do not understand why the seller says it fits the M1028 only, were all CUCV have the same shift lever. I have swapped between models and they fit fine.
EDIT: Ok i just realized he means it is for a M1028A1 with the NP205 transfer case, not the NP208 case.

This is not my listing, just passing it along as I recall members looking for this part.
