M1008 Engine noise

Got my m1008 out today and went for a ride and the engine noise at 55 was crazy! Granted its been 20 something years since I last rode in one but wow! its shifting and the transfer case is in high. Normal?

Take it to 70 and see how that sounds. Yes it is normal. And I have seen a few that had decals on them that said Hearing Protection Required.

They get real quiet at 75.

Yeah when the engine blows up.....

With 4.56 gears and a 3 speed trans she is just about to the max at 55 MPH. It is going to sound like she is taking off.
really because she is lol 2800 RPM ish

Thanks for replies, guess all these new vehicles have made me soft. Will stick with 55 and hearing protection.

A 700R4 and 9-16 tires helps, but still louder than comfortable. Roofing roll at Lowes Depot stuck all over inside helps too.
