So I have completed my move to the new location, and getting set up for the next MV project which is refurbishing the CUCV 1009 I got from Scrounger's estate. A noticed several of the fittings where the antenna mounting brackets go into the side body sheet metal are either seized up (can't remove the bolts for the antenna bracket) or they spin when I try and remove the bolts. Not sure what these things are called, or where I can get them.

Anyone have any experience with replacing these fittings? The condition of the rear quarters are not too bad, a few creases, not sure if I should cut these out with a torch and replace the fittings, or cut out the entire sheet metal area and patch it with a new panel.

I bought a basic rivnut tool on amazon and used the 3/8 18 rivnut to replace them. Just grind the top ring off the body close, and the old ones will fall out. Very easy to do.

Here's pics of one of mine. I had the original spots then put a 320 shelter in the back so had to lower it an inch. You can find the mounts on ebay pretty easy. There was a bunch on nos surplus for a while. I bought several. The guard can be harder to find but not impossible. Keep a lookout on marketplace and such. Sometimes they pop up and they don't know what they're for so go cheap.
