Depends how your painting it (1 color, 3 color camo, etc.) also depends how your applying and how many coats.

All depends on application. I can base coat a 1009 with three pints using high volume, low pressure Husky brand gun. This is diluted a bit and with Floetrol (pint of paint, 4 fl oz of Floetrol, 8 fl oz distilled water). This works in the sun with dew point in the 50s and ambient temps in the 70s which will probably run like a Kenyan in other conditions. So you have to play with the mix and the adjustments on the gun. Less wet-out with lower thinning rate will enhance the CARC-like appearance but may negatively impact adhesion.

Experiment, document and measure. Most important would be temperature and humidity, the greater the difference between the dew point and ambient temperature, the faster the drying time (flash out). Unlike petroleum/ketone/alcohol based paints, the humidity and temperature are very influential with water borne paint systems. With dry air, most of the thinning water will evaporate BEFORE the paint hits the metal. But with humid air, you won't get a proper flow-out.
