Disc’s then start with rocking to use the vehicles weight to do the work for you. And if that doesn’t work pull the tire again and work the pads. The pad/shoes get stuck to the drum or rotor and will just need a sharp wrap or jerk to get free. Sitting will usually free up with rocking, a big hammer may be needed on the pads. Got to get the force to the pad to free it. Good luck.

Note: rocking a vehicle back and fourth can start with you and your buddies pushing and pulling on it but does not end there. Usually on older vehicles rocking to loosen the brakes ends up with chains to another vehicle to snatch it good and loosen the pads/shoes. I have see some go as far as to drag one down a road to free them but plan on flat spots on tires if you do that.

Writer of this does not imply in braking any laws, check state and federal regulations before dragging, pulling, snatching any vehicle on state or federal roads. Use common sense and don’t hurt yourself or others.

I had this happen to me with my old car that I needed to scrap in. I was in a bind so I rammed into the back of it with my dads truck. a little love tap. But a chain should work too. worst comes to worst get the torches out.

on the rear brake take a straight piece of coat hanger push the self-aduster back with the wire and back the adjuster off

Parking brake left on? Had trouble getting drum off once, but it was stuck on the hub. I soaked it good with oil and worked it back and forth with a pry bar in between the drum and backing plate. Work my way around in a complete circle, eventually got it loose. when I put the drums back on I put grease on the hubs.

coulf be stuck on the hub. didnt think of that. there is no slot for the adjuster.
is there a knock out in the front of the drum GM used that on some models if you do get it off without breaking it a little never-seize on the hub where the drum rides is a good idea

Should be a knockout at the bottom of the backing plate also. It actually pulls out. Can you turn the drum forwards and backwards?
