Jay, if your pedal is consistanly going to the floor and your fluid level is good, bite the bullet and take it to your reputable mechanic to get it fixed before you injure yourself or someone else.

UPDATE:

Wednesday: I took my M1009 to a reputable shop in my neighborhood.
They inspected it, and ordered a new Master cylinder.
Thursday: They received and installed new Master cylinder, flushed, bled,
adjusted, and inspected entire system.
Then I picked it up and paid for it after work. Then drove it home.

Conclusion: My entire brake system is in good condition according to their inspection,
the only problem was a blown Master cylinder.

The brakes work extremely well now, and the cost was very reasonable,
so overall I am happy with the result. Now I have real safe stopping power.

Now I move onto the next item of things on its to do list.

Thank you and good day...

Thank you, I think so too...

I need to find a new place to live, that does NOT have rules against
people working on their own vehicles. LOL...

Maybe he is trying to learn as he goes, and makes the best decisions based on our advice?

Hi guys,

I do not take my truck to a shop every time.
Yes, I am learning as I go, and I learn something new every day.
And yes, I make the best decisions I can make based on the advice I get from all of you.

As for the rally... I would really like to go. But...

So we shall see... lately I have been working Monday to Thursday, off Friday and work Saturday.
So if I have the same schedule next week, and do not get Saturday off, then I cannot go.
As for affording it... I have barely enough to cover the trip, so money should not be an issue
this time.
Just my work schedule. And the more hours I get the bigger my paycheck gets.
Also, sometimes even when I have a day off, they call and and strongly encourage me to
come in and work. And I usually cannot get away with saying no unless I have a really
darn good reason I cannot. (like being out of town, bed-ridden, death in family, etc...)

So I will have to wait until at least Wednesday of next week before I can find out if I can
go to the rally or not.
My M1009 is running and stopping good now, so I do not see a problem there.

So we shall see...

319,

Thank you for the advice.
I will talk with them at work and see if I can switch Saturday with Friday,
So I can get Saturday and Sunday off.
Then I would be able to come down after work on Friday and hangout 1 night
or two nights.

We shall see...

CJ, what fluid did they put in it? DOT 3 or DOT 5? If not DOT 5, had it been converted to DOT 3 before, or did they fully flush the entire system to convert to DOT 3?

Cpf240,

They used DOT 5.... and the cap on the new Master cylinder has an engraved statement
to use DOT 5. So no worries there.

Okay now,

Why do I get the eerie feeling I will be like a guy out in the old west,
on his way to his own hanging? LOL...

Which one of you will be bringing the rope? etc...
Or are you guys just going to use the cable from a winch and toss it around a
tree branch, or use the boom from a wrecker? LOL...

By the way, I do not have the shocks now...

Also, what would be the best place to get accurate directions to there,
Duramtown site itself, an online map site, one of you guys?

See ya there, unless I cannot get out of working that weekend...

CJ - You could not be further from the truth with them statements.

What really helps folks is to actually look a member in the eyes - then what they type - kind of things they type all make sence - till you meet someone its like pissin in the wind.

You need to come, and I absolutely see no reason anyone would not be willing to help you and invite you into their camping area. You have no idea what you are missing - and from your thread of 2010 - its still been a no show and you are a lot closer than over 3/4 of these folks.

SO you come hungry - there are enough folks there to help you get some chow for NoCharge
SO you come thirsty or in need of a fruit like a CHERRY - I know just the right folks to help you out.

IT helps for folks to actually meet you - if you know what I mean. Just don;t take chit so critical - when folks are helpless I pretty much do not pussy foot around and try to KIA - when folk wanna learn and learn to help themself - I do not pussy foot around and try to help.

Your call fella - grab yourself by the knookers - put fuel in the truck and come.

Drop down to I20 and head East to exit 130
TUrn left off ramp and take it into town
From there follow the signs.
2hrs tops time from your house

I am not one for putting a name tag on or stick on of who I am - so you pretty much have to run into someone who can point you out.

One last thing - BE THERE OR BE SQUARE

Zout,

Gotcha...

Your entire statement has been duly noted and considered.
Thank you for the information and words of encouragement.

As for the directions.
Are you guys going to put up these "follow the signs" signs before the rally?
For work I have been thru that town on my way to Green county airport,
and do not recall any signs leading to Duramtown plantation.

I never wear a name tag either, that way it keeps the assassins after me always guessing.. LOL.
and since professionals do not waste ammo, that keeps me safe. LOL...

3dAngus,

Thanks for the tip, I got it now... LOL
I will print out Duramtowns directions before the rally.

I have been to Greensboro many times, so I know where the old Hardees is,
that is mentioned in the directions, but from there will be new to me.
