M1009 Tailgate Piece

I had to take the access hole cover off the tailgate to see what the window was hitting when cranked down. There were two plastic dealer license plates in there all smashed up. While in there I noticed two pieces that I need info on. The first two pics are from inside of the tailgate. It's a metal tab that looks like something should be riveted to it. The second is the for better term hook looking piece in the middle opening.



Trying to identify the pieces on LMC but no luck so far.

I;ve got the same pieces in my tailgate. I was also having problems getting the window all the way down untill I noticed that my 200 gallon water tank had slid backwards into the tailgate and bent it in just a bit. Two seconds with the tire iron to bend it back out and problem ws solved.

So does yours look like mine? Maybe that piece with the rivets is for something the Military didn't use.
