The component which failed is a diode, the member/vendor who makes new units sold by Hillbilly Wizard says it is a 24 volt Zener diode. It only functions as a freewheeling or snubber diode to clamp harmful voltage created by the solenoid when it is deenergized, protecting the transistor.Yea
It's cooked,know where I can get another one that dosent cost a arm and a leg...
Any standard power diode will work, the one in my card is such type, not a Zener. The nearby resistor is also damaged, 5100 ohm. This is for a switched 12 volt signal which turns the system on.
If this diode is damaged to short circuit, it will cause the GP relay to engage all the time.
