Only took a week, its alive! (Last run in 1995?) It only needed:
1. new ignition switch (GM) (had to buy) and retainer ring (finally bought the tool for removal, $10.00 at Napa)
2. Needed One alternator(had), installed the other one left in the truck, fixed wiring for both.
3. Starter, one left in front seat was actually good! Of course they cut the wires to it, fixed starter wiring.
4. 2 batteries, had. Changed bad battery terminal connectors, cleaned grounds, removed feed for radio to truck bed.
5. New heater hoses, why chance the dry rotted ones.
6. New vacuum lines (had)
7. New fuel pump (Napa)
8. Headlight switch (had)
9. Repair dash wiring,
10. GPR (napa ST-85) and glow plugs (Indusa)
11. Glow plug card (had)
12. Radiator fluid (walmart)
13. Replaced fuel filter base (had), blew out fuel lines back to fuel tank
(probably should have done that first not last)
14. Fresh fuel (Sunoco)
15. Vaccuumed nests in valley under Air Cleaner
16. Starts and restarts, drives and stops on its own now!
(finally in a better mood)
Lots of other things to make road worthy like tires but its no longer a driveway ornament.
NOTE: The TMs are my best friend when bringing these back to life.
And no Mike Braun its not for sale! lol

Its actually a pretty good looking truck. Add some rolling stock to the rear and spraybomb the front rims and it will look righteous. Congrats on the ressurection.

I love it when a plan comes together like that.
When i bring home a truck like that my wife shakes her head and says, "Whell, I guess I'm not gonna see you for a couple weeks again."

Good job Gerry!

GM72k10,
I disagree...

YOUR TRUCK DOESN'T LOOK BETTER, IT LOOKS GREAT.

And trust me, you gonna LOVE this one. I know I love mine.

Something about owning a truck most folks have never seen.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. It pays dividends that you won't expect.

Is it an A2 or an A3?
