M1030 engine into a Kawasaki KLR

How hard is it to get hold of an m1030m1 spare engine? Will the engine fit in a regular Kawasaki KLR650? Im interested in putting the diesel engine in my motorcycle if it is possible to modify the civilian KLR

I would forget that idea. There is a lot more involved than just the engine. If you want a diesel KLR you should look for a surplus M1030M1. They pop up occasionally on Gov Deals, some with titles, and most are running and complete.

VERY HARD, I have 3 spares and not letting go of any.
It would be easier to purchase a M1030M1
