Thought it was interesting that the M108 crane has down pressure on the boom. Figured I would figure out a way to use it. Have to take tires off rims, and it sounds like a lot of work.

So I got a piece of wood, piece of steel, threw the tire up on the crane deck, and volia', a tire bead breaker.

Kids, don't try this at home! Wood "may" kick out. I didn't have any problems, had it nice and straight.

I've done that with a spud bar but it keeps going through the tire. I'm going to fab one up with a spoon on the end but I'll do that at Dmans shop.

Alot easier and safer way if you have a Hi-Lift jack is to put it under the truck with the tire under the jack and break the bead that way.

this way is pretty smart though.

That be mucho dangerous if the tire is under pressure. Do not attempt this at home, unless you are a trained professional, or are so weird you are the kind of guy who drag-races lawn mowers. :)

I was wondering about making something to attach to the boom support bars, so if it slipped, it wouldn't go far.

unless you are really luck and get some like the ones I had... I was able to completely unload the suspension on my deuce w/o breaking the bead  I dropped them off & had a tire place do them. they got them done, but I was told "don't come back if you have any more of these"
